River Cruises - Love Them.

Noob to the board. My wife and I quite enjoy River Cruises. So far, we have done the Rhine from Brussels to Nuremberg and Southern France {Marsellies to Lyon) with a stay over in Paris. Early December we cruise the Danube from Nuremberg to Vienna to enjoy the Christmas Markets and the cold we don't get so much here in coastal Georgia. Contemplating a Vietnam/Cambodia cruise for 2015.

Nothing like sitting top side after a fine dinner and a bottle of wine enjoying one of the fine cigars you so have carefully packaged for the trip.

Re: River Cruises - Love Them.

Ahhhhh....cruising! My wife and I haven't done a River Cruise as yet but we are still looking into them as the way they are set up is so much better than regular cruising. We've probably done 25 cruises with different Cruise Lines and our favorites are the TransAtlantic ones because we hit the high spots at ports we want to see and if we really like them we go back and spend a week or two. We are going to the South of France for a week and then spend another week in Italy...Florence and Pisa and Tuscany then cruise back to the US. We find this to be a great value as the A/F is only about $500 p/p and a lot of times we fly free because of our travel points so we're only out the cost of the cruise ( $2500 for a balcony---total for up to 17 nights ) and the cost of hotels which we get for free with points.

I wish the River Cruises were a bit cheaper as they tend to run over $5,000 total for 7-10 nights but depending on the itinerary I guess it might be worth it.

Busting balls since 1954.
