Summer of the Traveling Chalker

Haha that topic name sounds like itíd be a damn good book. So hereís what Iím think boys. Currently I go to a college where I live at home and donít get outside the confines of this town. But Iíve decided to transfer and Iíll be going to a college in Chicago come fall. So I wanted to take this summer to travel around the country and see what we have. Hereís what Iím asking of you, lemme know what sorta stuff you have near you and maybe Iíll travel there, we can share a cigar, wouldnt mind some sandy beaches or some monomers, even those dumb things like worlds biggest rubber band ball. Tell me whatís near you and give me a reason to stop by and say hello for a night or two! Also suggest a hotel that doesnít have bedbugs lol! Thanks guys!

Hey @churchpunk, If you're in Chi town, Biggs downtown is a great place to go. Nice enough to be private, but cool enough to accept weary travelers in shorts on vacation. Patio during the summer, which may be great in early fall. If I'm back in Chi town, I'll hit you up and we can meet there or explore some others. My fancy-ass Chicago resident brother would know where else to go

Atlanta: traffic, panhandlers, potholes, and a Federal prison. Come on down!

Lakes as in the Great Lakes (Ontario and Erie,) festivals almost every week in the cities, small , really more narrow Finger Lakes in a big wine growing region below us, but itís also filled with low valleys where the Lakes are and high ridge lines, making for some fun hiking on the trails.

Niagara Falls, but bring your passport. Itís more fun on the Canadian side. Still, a pretty amazing site and plenty to do on the US side. Plenty of urban decay in the rust belt is you want to dwell on it. But plenty of distilleries, breweries and loads of colleges. Plenty of history from the Revolution and the War of 1812.

But why limit yourself to the USA. If you donít mind traveling on-the-cheap you can catch flights to Mexico through Central America, where the dollar goes far. You just have to be willing to learn some Spanish and travel on crowded buses. Staying in hostels is a very good experience. You can see some volcanoes and beautiful Mayan rain forest too.

Iím just throwing some alternatives out there that far to many Americans donít take advantage of.

I could just imagine the shenanigans at a PUFF herf.
@churchpunk If you like white sandy beaches and, don't mind high traffic during the peak of season, the gulf coast is beautiful. Might see an alligator or two inland. Once in a while one ventures on the beach near the star park here.
